Unique to Brighton began in August 2005 as part of a Claritymark project about local food.

We created an online directory of independent local food outlets, added five other shopping categories as a way of helping to support the local economy.

All the listed businesses are, or started out as, unique Brighton and Hove specialists.They all have something extra special about the origins of their products with a focus on quality. 

If you own a local business and are not yet listed, do please get in touch. 

Unique to Brighton was set up by Sue Korman. Phil Blackwood and Penny Davies help keep the listings up to date. 

Most of the shop front photos were taken by Sam- who can be spotted reflected in some of the windows!

The website could not exist without the creative talent, technical ability and patience of the team at The Wendy House.
